Retinal Surgeries – Vitrectomy for Floaters, Epiretinal Membrane & Macula Hole

I operate with the very latest small gauge and high-speed vitrectomy techniques.  I have weekly surgical retina operating lists and can offer such surgeries under local anaesthetic with or without iv sedation, or general anaesthetic

I manage people with both wet and dry AMD.  I was one of the first to start using Faricimab following its approval in the UK which for some can significantly improves outcomes, and reduce the number of treatments required.

YAG Laser Capsulotomy 

Scarring behind your lens implant is to be expected in time but is seen much more with some lens implant types than others.  I assess and offer to treat at the same visit whereever possible.
 

Retinal Tears and Detachment

I am commonly referred, in NHS and private practice, people where further or more complex management is required following cataract surgeries.

I work on the regional oncall service and in acute clinics and so am experienced in managing ophthalmic emergencies and general ophthalmology (eg red eye, laser iridotomy, eyelid cysts)
